This week (April 23 to 26) I’m in Denver at the Government Social Media Conference (GSMCON)!
This is the first conference I’ve been to since working for the County and the first time I’ve flown since my Whitworth Jan-Term trip to South Africa in 2014!
I’ll be posting a recap of each day (including pictures) to share with you all my experience at the conference, so here’s Day 1! (A little late, sorry!)
Day 1 (Monday, April 23) was a travel day, as the confrence didn’t officially start until Tuesday, April 24. Myself and a colleague booked the same flights to Denver so I had a travel buddy!
The flight from Pasco to Denver was rather uneventful – we left and arrived on time with about a two hour flight. I had plenty of time to read my new book (Station Eleven by Emily St John Mandel – 5 stars would recommend!)
After arriving at DEN, we took an Uber to the hotel in Tech Center and got ready for the welcome reception for the conference. The reception was mostly networking, and I got to meet other folks from around the country (and Canada) and share stories with them which was awesome.
That is pretty much the whole recap of Day 1! It was a relaxed day, with travel and some networking, since the conference didn’t get into full swing until Day 2.
Here are some of my photos from the day!
