Ok guys. I know I have been on a bit of a hiatus the last few weeks but I promise it’s been for good reason – we got a puppy!
We had the pleasure of welcoming our newest edition to the family on April 6 and let’s just say it’s been a wild ride already. Lots of sleepless nights to go around. But hey, if you’re ever awake at 3 am and need a friend just hit me up!
Without further ado, everyone meet Gertie (short for Gertrude)!
Gertie is our 10-week-old German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) and is a phenomenal dog already. She’s adorable, snuggles a bunch, and has been the biggest blessing in our house. It’s been about six years since I’ve had any pets, and even longer for Patrick (his is about 10 years), so it was long overdue for us to have a pup.
We’ve been looking for the perfect addition to our family for about a year now, but either due to timing or not finding the right fit, it hasn’t worked out. I cannot explain how amazing it feels to know that the wait was worth it.
The sleepless nights and changes in schedules have been well worth the love and affection she gives and the happiness she brings to our home. Gertie reminds me to take a step back and remember what’s important – surrounding yourself with people and things you love.
We’ve had Gertie for 10 days and it already feels like she’s always been part of our life. If you need more doggo pictures follow me on Instagram @shyannefaulconer or on Snapchat @shy.faulconer, because let’s be honest – she already has a designated folder in my phone photos. #noshame
