If you’ve stopped by my blog the last few days, you’ve noticed that things have changed a bit! I updated my visual branding as well as the name of my blog. I wanted to share with you my reasons for the change so, without further ado, here goes!
The name no longer reflected me or my life.
The name of any blog is a HUGE part of its identity – it tells people “hey, this is what I’m all about” and the name of my blog no longer did that. I wanted the name of my blog to reflect myself, my life, and the things that are important to me. Sincerely, Shyanne captured that in so many ways:
- I love to write (in case you hadn’t noticed) and letters are a way for me to capture my thoughts, spread joy, and feel close to those I love
- It reflects how I wish to always pursue my life: sincerely.
- It, in a nutshell, is ME.
I wanted to go all-in.
Let me explain that phrase for a minute. Prior to today, my blog had been something in my life that always took a back seat. Whether that was due to school, work, or personal life it wasn’t ever a priority and was simply “just something else I had to do.” It was time to reevaluate why I had the blog, what I wanted to gain from it, and what I hoped to accomplish. So, here we are.
I want to use this a tool to connect with all of you – to share with you my thoughts and my life. I see my blog now as an outlet and a way for me to express myself, but also as a way to build my personal brand to help me further my career goals and aspirations (that post is coming soon). So, I decided to take the plunge. I created a logo, bought a domain, and revamped my site. I will continue to keep my old posts from my years in college and interning, because they will always be part of me and part of my past. But you’ll likely see a shift in content in the near future, just a heads up!
I had lost my spark, my drive – but it is back full-force.
As all writers, musicians, artists, and entrepreneurs know creativity, energy, and enthusiasm come in waves. My spark to continue blogging waned in the past few years, which is ok! I needed that time to get my life started post-college, to focus on my career and my personal life. But now, I feel that I am in a place in my life where I have the time, drive, and passion for writing again and I need to do something about it.
Making your goals public and sharing your intentions with others means that you have people to hold you accountable, so that’s what I’m going to do. My goal is to post weekly (at minimum) – and I need your help to keep me to it!
I am guaranteeing that my ideas and creativity will ebb and flow – so if you have any questions or topics you want me to talk about feel free to shoot me a message (check the “Contact” page) – I would love to hear from you!
So, here’s to new beginnings – may they be bright, joyous, and forever sincere.
